The band came on and we were fairly close, but we were on the edge so our perspective was a little skewed. It didn't matter all that much because the music was great! Tim Reynolds- a wicked guitarist- played with them the whole time. I had snuck my camera past security (inside my umbrella) and I took pictures and videos of some of the songs. For anyone who's interested, here's the setlist from the concert:
Don’t Drink the Water
One Sweet World
So Damn Lucky
Old Dirt Hill
Corn Bread
#27
(Everyday)
Halloween
Water Into Wine
Everyday (Reprise)
Anyone Seen The Bridge
Too Much Intro
Tripping Billies
Out Of My Hands
Crush
Burning Down The House
The Idea Of You
Granny
Eh Hee
Water Into Wine (Reprise)
#41
You Might Die Trying
Ants Marching
As an encore, they did an AMAZING version of the song Two Step, which I videotaped in full. Stay tuned for a link to the video that I'll put on YouTube after I get home.
It was very hot at the concert and at one point we went to get something cool to drink. I found a little booth where they were selling boozy slushies and I bought one. They had Southern Comfort in them, which totally dominated the taste of the whole thing. The first sip was akin to a punch in the face, but then it wasn't so bad. About halfway through, it was just too much for me and I had to ditch it.
On the way out of the concert we figured out where we had come from on the way in and found the car. We got in and waited in the congestion. A young guy got out of a neighbouring car and mooned his friends (and us) and we laughed hard enough for him to come over and say hello (pants back on). We told him we wanted to put a dollar bill in his pants but couldn't find one. He pulled out his wallet and found three dollar bills and asked if we'd give him a five for them. Whether he was drunk or high or both, we weren't sure, but he sure was blown away when I took out my licence to prove that I was a real live Canadian.
